Craft Your Future toolkit ready for use

The Craft Your Futre toolkit is ready! With this toolkit we want to inspire the new doers and thinkers in Europe. By showing them how you can make a difference by taking the lead yourself. Be proud of where you come from, and how you can come up with imaginative products or services using craft and digital technology in a circular and sustainable environment.

Eileen Blackmore adds: ‘Cultural heritage, new technologies and sustainability shape our identity and lives. We want to educate the new generation about where they come from and how to innovate sustainably.’

To tackle current societal issues, it is necessary to work together in multidisciplinary teams and to form alliances with regional partners. The toolkit explains how you can get started and how to proceed. With useful links, literature and examples for workshops. Explanations are given about the circular economy, the local value chain and about the use of crafts and digital technology.

The material has been collected during partner meetings, student training weeks, lessons, research and stakeholder discussions and is now ready for others to use!

The toolkit was developed by Eileen Blackmore from House of Design, Hendrik Jan Hoekstra from Friesland College, Erna van der Werff from Learning Hub Friesland and Chele Esteve and Manuel Martínez from Universitat Politècnica de València.

Here you can read the English version of the toolkit.
It is also available in Dutch and Spanish and beautifully designed by Dick Muileman!

Craft Your Future is an Erasmus+ project in which three regions – Friesland (NL), Gabrovo (BG) and Catalonia (ES) – are working towards a sustainable future through the use of crafts, circular economy and digital tools. The project connects knowledge institutions, students, local authorities, creative industries and (social) enterprises to develop a strategy that helps the regions to become more attractive by using the cultural heritage, stimulating the local economy and building a future using local resources.
