Open call for climate adaptive artwork

Open call for climate adaptive artwork
3 August 2020 Eileen

The climate is changing and we all know it. How do we handle this? Where do we find inspiration to tackle the problem? Climate adaptation Groningen, together with House of Design, is organizing an open call for a work of art that encourages us to adapt to the changing climate.

The artwork aims to initiate a climate adaptive movement, focusing on what is possible and how we can take action to adapt. In addition to reducing our CO2 emissions (mitigation), we will also have to adapt to the consequences of climate change (adaptation) that are already tangible, such as heat, drought and flooding.

We are looking for inventive makers!
Makers who live and work in the Northern Netherlands (Groningen, Friesland & Drenthe) can submit a proposal. Proposals may be about new or existing work (less than two years old) and can be submitted until September 1, 2020.

Travel
The work will travel through the province of Groningen in the fall / winter of 2020/2021 and will eventually be shown at the Climate Adaptation Week Groningen in January 2021.
